Target group
Staff who need general information on PROFIBUS, with particular requirement
for PROFIBUS-DP. Engineers and technicians who want to link JUMO-PROFIBUS
devices to an S7.
Aims
You will become familiar with the fundamental concepts of PROFIBUS and
PROFIBUS-DP, be able to plan a PROFIBUS system and to link JUMO-PROFIBUS-DP
devices to an S7.
Requirements
Basic knowledge in using PCs with Windows.
Contents
PROFIBUS is one of the most widespread bus systems, and is also specified
in EN 50170. This seminar teaches you the basics of the bus system, so that
you can independently carry out the linking of a JUMO instrument to
an S7.
The course covers:
- the PROFIBUS family (-DP, -PA and -FMS)
- fundamental characteristics of the varios
PROFIBUS versions
- transmission methods and corresponding
tips for installation
- the PROFIBUS bus access protocol
(token-passing and master-slave procedures)
- PROFIBUS-DP basic functions
- device basic data filde (GSD)
- creating a GSD file with the JUMO GSD
generator
- linking of JUMO DICON40x/50x, JUMO IMAGO
500 and JUMO LOGOSCREEN to an S7
- practical work
- detecting and removing faults
